About the Artist:

Kenneth Forman (June 5, 1925–July 17, 2015), was born in India, the son of missionaries. After naval service in the South Pacific and Japan during World War II, Forman enrolled at Wittenberg College, where he was introduced to his first art classes. He was an older student on the GI Bill and allowed to study piano music — for pleasure, not credit. He says, “Art and music literally changed my life.”

As a young graduate with a master of fine arts degree from Ohio State University, Forman began his teaching career at the University of Connecticut in 1951. He was working primarily in Modernist and Abstract styles. He traveled extensively throughout Europe, Mexico, Spain and the East Coast. Later in life blindness stopped him from producing art and he began to play the piano.
