Pair of Breccia Pernice Marble Vases, France 19th Century
A stunning pair of breccia pernice marble vases featuring soft curves and fluted openings. Brecciated marble is characterized by the merging of broken fragments of different types of natural stone, creating an organic collage. The smooth, heavy stone was likely quarried in Southwestern France near the Pyrenean mountains and displays gorgeous goldenrod, olive green, and eggplant hues. Sourced in France, 19th Century.
DIMENSIONS: 7"W x 7”D x 16"H
CONDITION: Good overall vintage condition. The marble displays minor chipping along the bottom edges.
