Pair of 'Bow Wood Villeneuve St Georges' Bentwood Armchairs by Hughes Steiner, France 1950s
A rare pair of ‘Bow Wood Villeneuve St Georges’ bentwood armchairs created by French designer Hugues Steiner in the 1950s. These chairs feature curved, bentwood frames in a warm, blonde finish with dramatically arched arms and square metal ring details. The seats and back are formed of slightly lighter hued braided straw, woven effortlessly in a basketweave design. ‘Bow Wood Villeneuve St Georges’ maker’s mark on underside of chair. France, 1950s.
