Bruno Mathsson was one of the first Scandinavian designers to embrace biomorphic forms in furniture. His early pieces, such as the Eva chair and Pernilla series, feature dramatically flowing bent beechwood frames. Mathsson was known as a perfectionist who made functionality the forefront of his iconic lounge chairs, tables, armchairs and other works. He continuously experimented and discovered improvements in form, materials, and methods of design.
